Coaches, players and schedules for the Watertown Red, Black, Grey and White Sox squads (2024)

WATERTOWN — The Watertown Post 17 American Legion (16-2) baseball team kicked off its season in late April and the Post 17 Junior Legion (6-4) team followed in mid-May.

The Watertown Baseball Association teams is again fielding four other teams this summer: the U16 Red Sox, U14 Black Sox, U13 Grey Sox and U13-14 White Sox. They will all play South Dakota Class A Baseball (https://www.sdclassabaseball.com/).

The Red Sox opened play on May 18 and the Black, Grey and White Sox are all scheduled to open this week.

Here's the list of coaches and players along with the remaining schedule for those four teams:

Red Sox (16U)

Coaches — Kolby Lacher and Ryan Roby.

Players — Tucker Lunde, Matthew Bertsch, Caden Corey, Andrew Dahl, Dawson Hartman, Dawson Hlavacek, Kasen Jensen, Austin Lacher, Tyson Lawrence, Gavin Neyens, Sam Olson, Max Stroup, Taren Veflin and Brayden Wentzlaff.

Notes — Red Sox went 25-15 in 2023. Currently 2-6 on the season, splitting two doubleheaders against the Aberdeen Smittys and getting swept at Marshall and Mitchell.

Aug. 1-4: State at Rapid City.

Black Sox (14U)

Coaches — Justin Harte and Bryce Hult.

Players — Boston Butler, Sam Dylla, Kaeden Himmerich, Braden Jenc, Caleb Kannas, Tate McNames, Tyson Miller, Kye Paulson, Wyatt Peterson, Konrad Pitkin, Braylon Schell, Max Sears and Kannon VanGilder.

Notes — The Black Sox went 22-12 in 2023. The team opened its season on Tuesday with two losses at Sioux Falls.

Players — Marshall Antoine, Jack Arnold, Carter Clark, Logan Fischer, Wilkes Flatten, Landon Halling, Brode Lohr, Levi Lund, Jeron Maag, Hudson Palmquist, Evan Ries and Holton Schutt.

Notes — Grey Sox went 25-15-2 in 2023. Team was scheduled to open its season Wednesday with a doubleheader at Sioux Falls.

Players — Levi Brownlee, Dray Dahlgren, Leo Dunn, Konrad Frankfurth, Dustin Garvey, Case Hulscher, Max Larson, Gabe Larson, Grant Mayo, Kolbe Mohling and Cody Whisman.

Notes — White Sox went 15-15-1 in 2023. The team opened its season with two losses at Milbank on Tuesday.
